A Personal Mission
As a first-generation Punjabi Canadian, Harmen draws inspiration from his upbringing and exposure to diverse cultures, which he strives to incorporate into all of his work.
In his creative endeavors, he is motivated by the desire to uncover the human element in all kinds of stories, whether they are fictional or based on real events. The belief is that enacting human connection on an emotional level requires communicating empathy through storytelling.
The process of filmmaking and sampling often serves as a way to preserve history, allowing us to capture and revisit moments in time through a retrospective lens.
Through strategic collaborations with esteemed organizations, including The City of Brampton, The Toronto Liaison of Independent Filmmakers, and The Ontario Arts Council, Harmen has been able to produce a series of content tailored for Canadian youth.
